Summer Night Walk
Acrylic on panel
11 x 14 x 1 inches
Archival materials
Summer Night Walk was painted during the February 23 blizzard of 2026, in the middle of a white, wind-lashed day. While snow buried the present moment, I found myself returning to a different memory: a humid summer night, thick with shadow, where the trees felt close and the air carried that deep, quiet blue only July can hold.
This piece leans into darkness on purpose. The composition rests on rich, layered values, allowing subtle shifts in light to emerge slowly as you spend time with it. The eye adjusts. Shapes reveal themselves. What first feels mysterious begins to feel intimate.
The painting is about noticing. Noticing the way light pools under trees. Noticing the softness at the edge of shadow. Noticing how even an ordinary evening walk can hold something expansive.
Created with professional acrylic on cradled panel using archival materials, this 11 x 14 inch work is ready to hang and built to last. Its depth and surface texture shift gently throughout the day as natural light changes.
If you’re drawn to moody landscapes, contemplative spaces, and artwork that rewards a second look, Summer Night Walk may be the right piece for your home.
Add it to your collection and bring a little more everyday beauty into your space.
